Sudden greenery appeared with gentle notes abound, waxing lyrical of warm spices, lanolin, heather flowers and a beautiful blend of wood and spirit. Full maturation in a 2nd fill ex-bourbon barrel and bottled in our Fragrant & Floral flavour profile. Shining spirit at natural cask strength.
Tasting Notes
At first, the Panel noted yellow flowers, putty, orange oils and vanilla cake, all robustly supported by hints of chai tea, chamomile, butter beans and olive oil. A classical, refill wood-maturation profile, we agreed. Water made the aroma slightly mentholated, with suggestions of crushed ivy, eucalyptus and herbal teas; a rather ‘green’ profile all of a sudden … The neat palate displayed immediate peppery warmth and richness, with grassy rapeseed oil, muddled parsley, camphor, lanolin and heather flowers. Reduction added a balancing touch of biscuity sweetness, dusty pollens, oatcakes and a hint of waxiness.
