Tamdhu Distillery is one of the quiet achievers on Speyside but lays claim to being the only distillery in Scotland to fill 100% into sherry casks for its production. Fans of sherried whiskies will not want to miss this!
Recently elevated to the rank of Master by the Keepers of the Quaich, Ian has had a storied career in the industry and has long been a friend of the Society. (Members may recall he presented a tasting for us in Sydney back in 2014 when he looked after a different brand.) Currently holidaying in Australia, Andrew Derbidge has convinced him to take a night out of his leave to give us his wisdom, insights, and humour into all things Tamdhu.
We’ll be tasting a combined line-up of Tamdhu whiskies from their official stable, plus several SMWS single cask releases from Distillery 8 that we’ve had express-flown to Sydney just for this event.
Bottled just in the last few months, these Society casks have not even been released in Europe yet, so this will be quite the sneak peek!
Please note this event is a Members-only exclusive with room for just 20 people. A light supper will be served during the night.
