Franz Scheurer, the internationally-acclaimed maestro of matching food to whisky, returns for yet another SMWS Whisky Dinner, this time teaming up with none other than Lennox Hastie of both Firedoor and Gildas fame (as well as the Netflix series, Chef’s Table).
Gildas, Lennox’s second restaurant in Sydney, opened in 2022 and earned a Chef’s Hat in its first year. Basque-inspired cuisine from his time in Spain, it was awarded Two Hats for 2026. Franz and Lennox — two mates in the kitchen from way back — have worked to put a sensational menu together, combining Lennox’s exceptional cooking, Franz’s knack for the match, and curation of our full-flavoured Society whiskies.
Some members will be familiar with the remarkable flavour pairings that await as they are true pairings, adopting Franz’s 1+1=3 principle. Four Society whiskies, a welcome drink, and paired courses await at this fine-dining experience for the flavour explorer. Limited seats available.
