DESCRIPTION:The Scotch Whisky Festivals are a time for celebrating the great uisge beatha (water of life) that we enjoy; to celebrate locally\, we’re bringing our hugely successful afternoon festival back to the Kelvin Club for a second year!\nFor 2025\, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is hosting the Whisky Wanderers festival\, our iteration of the popular Scotch Whisky Festivals in which each Scotch region celebrates their history and flavour. This year\, the SMWS has produced multiple cask-strength expressions to celebrate the Whisky Wanderers festival\, and Australia is receiving 14x of them! All 14 casks will be on pour for this festival hosted at our beloved Partner Venue — The Kelvin Club — encompassing two floors of flavour and entertainment. \nTickets include unlimited pours of the 14x new 2025 Whisky Wanderer bottlings\, canapés\, and the option to add on complimentary micro masterclass sessions. We’ll have several whisky stations set up and guests can visit each to taste the drams on offer\, with canapés roaming during this cocktail-style event. Building on the Rare Releases of previous years\, the Society has unveiled a series of specially selected and carefully matured casks globally to mark the inaugural Whisky Wanderers Festival. We’re lucky enough to be receiving 14 of them in Australia (including the highly anticipated five-region blended malt Wandering Alchemy). \nWhere better to return on a cold winter’s night in our nation’s capital than Caribou at Kingston — our favourite Canadian Sports Bar known as the friendliest waterhole in the lakeside precinct? Our Canadian friends are offering a convivial night\, tasty warming foods\, maple-flavoured fun\, accompanied by a selection of 6x Winter Wanderers Festival malts and a cocktail on arrival. Escape from the mad pressures of life and instead enjoy friendship\, hospitality and fantastic flavours. \n  \nWhen? Thursday 10th of July 2025 — 6:00pm arrival for a 6:30pm start.\nWhere? There’s only one way to find out!\nYour Perth Society Ambassador David Stucken has decreed this tasting shall be a blind tasting for a bit of fun — do the regions really matter? Well\, try and guess which dram is from each region on July 30 downstairs at Terrarium. Grazing plates\, six drams (your welcome dram will be our five-region blend to prepare your palates) and an evening of fun. You’ll also be some of the first people in the country to taste the 2026 SMWS Festivals bottlings… \nYou’ll be provided with a standard A5 tasting booklet with ABV\, casking\, Outturn\, and distillation date…but nothing else. See how well you know the traditional region flavours\, and you may just be surprised! No experience required; at the end of the day it’s just a fun and cosy SMWS tasting like any other; great drams and great people. \n  \nWhen? Join as at The Royal Automobile Club of Australia on Saturday the 1st of August for a full afternoon of festival fun! \nWe will have a spacious and elegant private room with several stands throughout\, each with whiskies from their own regions for you to try at your leisure\, along with plentiful roaming canapés. What’s on pour? We don’t want to give too much away just yet\, but we can ensure you we’ll have: \n  \n\n1x five region blend (an evolution of last year’s incredibly popular Wandering Alchemy)\n1x Campbeltown malt\n2x Lowland malts\n4x Speyside malts\n4x Highland malts\n6x Islay malts\n\n \n  \nPlus\, the return of the Whisky & Alement rare Islay bar with co-owner Julian White serving some classic and rare whisky from Fèis Ìle experiences of the past\, plus some other rare goodies.
