Please join me for our end of year bash at an old favourite\, the Northbeach Novotel. A range of rare Society single cask single malts will be on taste\, covering a wide range of flavour profiles and distilleries to suit every palate. It will be a stunning line-up\, with some bottlings making their first appearance ever at a Society event\, and concluding with the now legendary amazing Festive Season buffet supper to round the evening off in style and plenitude. \nDinner-only tickets are available for designated drivers (contact our office to book) – and a cash bar for those who prefer grape to grain. \nSo gather your friends\, family\, or colleagues\, and let’s enjoy some drams in great company – the more the merrier. DESCRIPTION:The year has flown by\, and it’s that time already…our End of Year Canberra Bash! \nIn keeping with recent tradition\, we present once more our fabulous Steps tasting at The Deck – overlooking beautiful Lake Burley Griffin. We’ve called this one EIGHT. What’s eight for? It’s EIGHT degrees of satisfaction!\n1. Wednesday 13th December at The Deck\, Barrine Drive\, Parkes\, arguably Canberra’s most pictureque venue.\n2. EIGHT Society whiskies being featured (and\, in some cases\, never before showcased in Australia).\n3. The first EIGHT members to book in get 8% off the cost of any whisky they purchase on the night.\n4. The first EIGHT members to place an order on the night will receive a free 50ml official sample bottle of SMWS whisky.\n5. The first EIGHT members to submit an order for two bottles on the night will receive two free 50ml official sample bottles of SMWS whiskies. (From two different casks).\n6. $88 for members\, $118 for non-members\n7. Strictly limited to just 58 people.\n8. The format will be our ever-popular “Steps” style tasting. DESCRIPTION:The Scotch Malt Whisky Society proudly welcomes single malt distillery code ‘133’ to the library with Cask 133.1 ‘Speakeasy sneaky peeky’\, which is not only the newest code to the Society\, but also the oldest cask out of the distillery to date. Join National Ambassador Matt Bailey\, and Westland Distillery expert Christopher Cornell\, on a journey through Seattle Washington with the three core range Westland bottlings\, two Westland distillery rarities\, and be one of only a handful of people to taste the already cult-status new SMWS Cask 133.1. \nThis is not only the most comprehensive Westland tasting in the southern hemisphere\, but the first and ONLY outing of Cask 133.1 in Australia. Book in quick to be part of this momentous occasion and festive tasting at our home-away-from-home\, Melbourne Whisky Room. You will be treated to a welcome dram\, six drams from one of the most innovative distilleries on earth\, and a light supper for just $75 per person incl.
