New Society offerings\, a taste of something special\, and some depth of expert knowledge with special guests on the night… don’t miss out!\n*This event replaces the tasting originally scheduled for 24th August* \nWinter begone\, Spring is in the air\, and nothing beats a fully-hosted warming night of whisky back at the Royal Automobile Club exploring 6 x never-before tasted panel-approved single-casks from the SMWS\, along wth a full tutored evening of whisky exploration\, education\, and full-flavoured experiences. \nThe twist however\, is we’re going to explore a bit deeper into barley\, a bit deeper into the Society\, and possibly even taste something you might not expect… \nJoin our National Ambassador Matt Bailey in an adventure through casks\, alongside some very special guests from the industry who know their areas of expertise in spirit unlike any others in the country: \n\nDave Withers\, Archie Rose\, will be digging a bit deeper on the night into barley\, the new Archie Rose six malt\, and how important this grain is in the flavour of a whisky.\nDarren Lange\, Master Cask\, will be getting right into wood\, oak\, casks\, and the flavour they impart to the spirit.\n\nA full-flavoured Masterclass awaits\, book in now to avoid disappointment\, and discover some of the rarities from The Vaults presented for a big evening of great drams\, great company\, and some twists along the way. \nMembers and guests of members $79\, non-members $109. 6:30pm for a 7.00pm start. Boilermakers in collaboration with the Melbourne Whisky Room sold out so fast that we’re adding a second night: \nIn a collaboration set to stun palates\, we’re proud to announce a very special collaboration between The Scotch Malt Whisky Society\, Melbourne Whisky Room\, and the very full-flavoured Kaiju! Brewery for one night only… \nA ‘boilermaker’ is traditionally a working-class knock-off drink of local lager and a shot of cheap whisky to follow. What happens when we take the most rigorously panel-approved single casks from the SMWS and expertly pair them with a range of bombastic full-flavoured beers from Kaiju! Brewery\, at the marvellous Melbourne Whisky Room to find flavour nirvana for one night only with only the best ingredients?
