DESCRIPTION:Gear up for the 2024 Global Gathering in Sydney!\nGlobal Gathering is an SMWS initiative started several years ago where we dedicate the entire month of September to emphasise the ethos that whisky should be shared\, not just with your friends and neighbours\, but with fellow Society members from all over the world! Each branch has an entire cask bottled exclusively for its local members; and whilst it’s still too soon to unveil the details of our Australian-exclusive Gathering cask\, we have organised an incredible whisky party for our NSW members! \nThis year\, we’re celebrating at NSW Partner Bar The Captain’s Balcony in Crows Nest\, where we have exclusive access to the upstairs room for a token-based whisky party complete with food and a cash bar downstairs if you feel like additional beverages or meals. Join the friendly faces of our Sydney SMWS team for an afternoon of tasting through 9x different Society drams (including the 2024 Gathering bottling) at your own pace! \nWe’ll break halfway through the afternoon for a little bit of discussion about the Gathering bottling and food (each guest will receive their own small plate)\, before returning for some more drams and hearty camaraderie. \n \n  \nWhen? Saturday\, 14th of September 2024 — 2:30pm arrival and 3pm start.\nWhere? The Captain’s Balcony Crows Nest\, 116 Willoughby Rd\, Crows Nest NSW 2065.\n  \nMembers are welcome to bring guests at member prices; non-members are also welcome to attend at a special price that includes one-year of membership!

DESCRIPTION:Sydney — what a festive end-of-year Christmas party Andrew Derbidge has prepared for you all!\n  \nJoin us on Saturday\, 22 of November at Bar 26 for a seriously incredible afternoon of whisky\, food\, tours\, and fun! Our passionate friends at NSW Partner Bar Bar 26 (the cellar door of Otter Craft Distilling) have been kind enough to lend us their venue for the afternoon so we can host you all with incredible whisky\, food\, and even tours of the distillery! Each ticket holder will receive six tokens which can be redeemed for SMWS drams and OCD whisky flights. \n\nThe full offering of the afternoon includes:\n\nA welcome OCD Whisky Highball \n5x SMWS to taste at your leisure (redeemable with your tokens)\nFlowing food including homemade pizzas & charcuterie boards\nThe opportunity to embark on a flight of 3x10ml Otter Craft Distilling drams (redeemable with your tokens)\nDistillery tours with Eduard Otter\n\n  \nWhen? Saturday the 22nd of November\, 2:00pm arrival and start for a 5pm finish.\nWhere? Bar 26; unit 2/26 – 30 Halloran St\, Lilyfield NSW 2040.\n  \nPlease note that the official event will end at 5pm\, the bar will then be open to the public. Guests are welcome to stay for as long as they wish and purchase further drinks from the bar. \nMembers may purchase non-member tickets for guests\, non-members may also attend.
