DESCRIPTION:2002: Andre Tammes & John Rourke started something in Australia that would forever change the landscape of whisky appreciation forever.\nThey brought the world’s leading whisky club\, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society\, to Australia. They toured around the country with a bag of whisky and gauged interest to see whether or not Australians would truly want these rare and delicious malts. \nThe resounding answer was a yes! So\, the plan was hatched to start the branch and bring the full Society experience to Australia. \n\n\n\nIn 2012 we celebrated our 10th anniversary of the branch\, and in 2017\, our 15th anniversary. Fast forward to 2022 and we’ve hit our 20-year milestone\, and you guessed it\, we have some rather special 20th-anniversary casks and experiences to share yet again.\n\nAt this celebration on the 16th of October\, we’ll be taking over our latest Partner Bar\, Terrarium\, in Perth. Drinks\, food\, a special Society cocktail expertly crafted for the experience + so much more to be announced!\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen? Sunday 16th October 2022 — 3:30pm arrival for a 4pm start.\nWhere? Terrarium\, 99 St Georges Terrace Perth WA 6000 (Howard St entrance)\, Perth WA 6000\n\n\n\n\n\nCome join the most vibrant whisky community in Australia with a special launch of these 20th-anniversary casks and let’s raise a dram to the whisky club that started it all\, The SMWS.
