DESCRIPTION:Introducing our Sherry & Scotch SMWS Documentary!\nGet ready to immerse yourself in the world of sherry cask maturation\, as Richard and Euan from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society set off on a journey from the oak forests of Galicia to the vineyards and bodegas of Andalucia in the upcoming documentary “Scotch & Sherry: A Flavour Odyssey”. \nThe SMWS are trailblazing sherry casks this year after a concerted effort to increase the amount of good sherried whisky in our lives! To celebrate\, we’ve filmed a 37-minute documentary about it featuring Euan Campbell\, Richard Goslan and other special guests. Get deep into the details of sherry casks over in Jerez\, Spain\, and learn all about the usage of these casks in whisky. Be the first in Australia to watch this film on the big screen with fellow members.  \nWe’ve organised a takeover of the private cinema at The Backlot Studios in South Melbourne\, where we’ll sip a welcome drink and enjoy 3x sherried Society whiskies whilst watching the documentary. As always\, the SMWS is bringing you several Scotch Whisky Festival releases available to try at the same time as those in the UK — an absolute treat! \nYour local SMWS Ambassador Mr Tom Rofe has organised a classic festivals dinner at our Partner Bar the New Sydney Hotel in Hobart for members and friends where you will enjoy 6x of the 2024 Rare Release festival bottlings\, a welcome drink\, and two-course dinner. Soak up the fèis spirit amongst passionate friends and fellow members whilst you enjoy some tasty drams and a hearty meal. \n  \nWhen? Saturday\, 29th of June 2024 — 6:30pm arrival for a 6:45pm start.\nWhere?
