For those who have joined our wondrous club in 2025, you may be less-so familiar with Premium Malt of the Month — a concept we introduced several years ago which allowed us to offer up a Premium-livery bottling we had a good allocation of at a great price alongside our core-range Malt of the Month, but only for our massive November Outturn. This year, we’re opted for a 24-year-old Highland single-grain whisky using exclusively organic grain. If Malt of the Month offered you a briny, fruity, salty malt, then this one is just fruit and cream with sponge cakes and buttered tangy fruits being thrown around the palate. Three years of further maturation in a 1^st fill ex-HTMC barrel after 21 years in an ex-bourbon barrel, and available for the staggeringly attractive price of $280 down from $310 just for November and December. Don’t sleep on this one!

Tasting Panel notes

Tangy notes of lemon, raspberries and orange sherbet swirled in thick rice pudding and vanilla custard adorned with raisins, marzipan and soft butterscotch. Tart cherries and candied orange then emerged against a backdrop of stewed apples, dark chocolate and sticky toffee pudding. Adding water enhanced the delight as creamy butter textures wrapped around popcorn, tangerines and sticky dates, before honey-roasted nuts tumbled on to the palate with crunchy cereals and sponge cake. The abundance of sweetness found the perfect balance on the finish, however, as lime marmalade and plum skins delivered a tart dryness alongside the tang of hoppy IPA beer. After spending 21 years in an ex-bourbon barrel this was transferred to a first fill heavily toasted barrel for the remainder of its maturation.
