From Islay all the way to the Lowlands\, experience The Society’s 2022 whisky festival casks in an intimate and relaxing setting with SA Ambassador Jenny Forrest guiding you through each dram.\n\n\n\nA delightful supper will be provided after the third dram to replenish the senses before continuing on with the final three drams. These casks won’t be landing in the country until later in the year\, so join us on May 6th for a sneak peek at these incredible whiskies that have been specially selected to honour the six Scotch whisky festivals.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGuests will enjoy six drams — one of each festival cask — and a supper.\n\n\n\n\nWhen? One of the lesser known ones is the Flying Haggis. \n\nIn search of this elusive flying creature\, let us take you on a sensory journey through Scotland visiting six* whisky distilleries – yes six distilleries – along the way.\n\nIt’s rumoured these strange\, and some say mythical\, flying haggis creatures\, congregate where the sweet smell of malted barley and spirit vapours fill the air. Maybe there are no angels; maybe the loss from sleeping oak casks lies with the Flying Haggis? We’ll see if we can discover the truth – we’ve got plenty of drams to savour and many miles to travel on our armchair journey.\n\nLet us take you through deep glens\, past brooding lochs and swift\, tumbling rivers\, through hedgerows and fields\, ancient castles and stone ruins\, lush gardens\, steep munroes and bustling villages. DESCRIPTION:Boilermakers are back!\nOur next tasting is made in heaven! We are excited to present an evening of not only five of our great Society single cask whiskies\, but also an opportunity to match them to a hand picked range of craft beers.  \nAccording to Alan\, he’s been doing research in this field for many years\, sacrificing several hours each week in the exploration of breweries\, malts and hops in an effort to discover flavours and aromas of beers worthy of our event. I can’t say I blame him . . . pairings of beer and whisky have been a popular activity by many. Our Society members interstate have been party to boilermaker tastings in the past. Well now it’s South Australia’s turn. \n\n\n\nYou’re familiar with the wash or beer produced in the distilling of whisky. During this event we’ll spend some time and energy indulging in some wide ranging craft beers alongside our amazing whiskies. We’ll answer your questions\, tantilise your tastebuds\, get you thinking and above all have some fun exploring the craft and dark arts of some of life’s pleasures. \n\n\n\nThis is definitely not a night to be driving yourself! Please arrange some transport home afterwards. A delicious supper will be offered\, but remember it will be a night of beer AND whisky. \n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you on Friday 25 June\, 2021\, 6.00 for 6.30pm.
