Join us for a very special and exclusive SMWS x Ardbeg celebration: an intimate evening with Dr Bill Lumsden, the Director of Whisky Creation at Ardbeg Vic Ambassador Alex Moores.
Okay, so we couldn’t convince Dr Bill to come back to Melbourne so soon after his whirlwind trip to Australia a month ago for Ardbeg Day. We couldn’t get the next best thing either…or the thing after that, but fortunately Alex was able to smuggle back some bottles from the Sydney tasting and Melbourne members have a chance to try a very special lineup.
Alex will host an intimate, members-only evening of exceptional Islay malts from our friends at Ardbeg, and a couple of choice selections from Distillery 33 that we have been waiting to share. Expect old and remarkable whisky to be shared with stories of the bottlings, the Society’s history with this distillery, and tales from Islay. The amazing drams will focus on the Traigh Bhan, the highly complex and distinctive releases from Ardbeg with some serious age for Islay whiskies.
Due to the strictly limited nature of the spirit being poured, and the ethos of this experience, this is strictly an SMWS members-only event on a first-come, first-served basis. This is a tasting not to be missed.
